Ndamukong Suh, Defensive Tackle, Nebraska
Height: 6-4 Weight: 305
Ndamukong is going to be selected within the first 3 picks and could end up going number 1 overall. He is definitely worthy of being selected that high. My long lost dad Mel Kiper says he's the best Defensive Tackle prospect he's ever seen coming out of college. He's one of the few players I give an elite grade to in this draft. He was dominant in the Big 12 Title Game and almost put Nebraska on his back and carried them to a Big 12 Championship.
Suh has good size and his body is chisled. He can stuff the run and rush the passer making him an every down player. He has a great motor and never stops, always giving everything he has. He is very athletic for his size and has great agility for an interior defensive lineman. He has a quick first step and good initial pop coming off the ball allowing him to drive lineman off the ball. Shows good power when he bull rushes. He is reported to have great work ethic and leadership skills. Is versatile, can play the 1,3,and 5 technique. Is excellent at getting off blocks or disengaging the offensive lineman. Ndamukong basically has it all, he can do everything a Defensive Tackle is supposed to do with very few weaknesses.
The only concern I have about Suh is his durability. He has had a couple knee injuries and surgery. Some people also call him a 1 year wonder, but I disagree he was starting to come on strong in the 2008 season.
So like I said Ndumakong is one of the few elite grade players in this draft and may be the best overall player. It's between him and Eric Berry in my opinion. Come late April he's going to be a very rich man and just in time as next year there will most likely be a rookie wage scale.
